2) Ford India looking at Eco-boost engine technology

Ford India, is looking to introduce its Eco-Boost engine technology in its new cars that the company claims will raise fuel mileage by 20%.

>EcoBoost , which uses gasoline turbocharged direct-injection technology has already been launched by the US-based parent, in its compact cars and large trucks sold in the American market.

>Ford claims the new engine also lowers

carbon dioxide(Co2) emissions by 15% compared to the conventional petrol and diesel engines and would help the company meet the future emission norms.

3) DoT extended the execution date of MNP by 3 months

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has extended the date for execution of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) by 3 months to Dec 31, 2009, from the earlier date Sep 20, 2009.

WHAT IS MNP?

ANSWER:

MNP permits subscribers to change operators without any need to change their numbers.

According to an official from DoT, the execution of first phase of the MNP, in metro and category A service area has been extended by 3 months.

>MNP will probably be available by end of the current fiscal in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Chennai mobile service regions.
