Government approves 9 FDI proposals worth about Rs 75 crores.

>High Mark Credit Information Services, Ramboll Singapore,UK's Ramboll Whitbybird Holdings, Amann Sewing & Embroidery Threads, Rescal S A S France, Housing Development Finance Corp, and Marconi Telecommunications.


1.National Film Awards: Southern films bag top honours.

>Tamil film ‘Kanchivaram won.



>Prakash Raaj best actor for his performance in Tamil film "Kanchivaram".


2.CBSE new system:


It’s official. There will be no Class X board examination in CBSE schools in 2011. While there will be a board exam for Class X in 2010, grading system, based on continuous and

comprehensive evaluation by schools, will kick in this year itself. Students in schools with classes only till X will have to take an “online/ offline/on demand” assessment test for

seeking admission in Class XI in another school.

3.India speeds past China in AUTO EXPORTS.

>India exported a total of 2.30 lakh cars, vans, SUVs and trucks between January and July 2009.


>Growth of 18% even as China’s exports tumbled 60% in the same period to 1.65 lakhs units.


>>India scores due to its liberal investment policies and high quality manufacturing which stems from its growing prowess in research and development.


>India allows for 100% FDI in auto sector, in China you can only be present through a joint venture with a local partner.

4.RBIto introduce 100 crore Rs 10 plastic notes.


>To introduce Rs 10 polymer banknotes whose life span would be 4 times the normal currency notes and would be difficult to imitate.
